Macaron Day began in 2006 by top pastry chef and the Father of the Modern Macaron, Pierre Herme, in Paris. It is celebrated every 20th of March in honor of this lovely and colorful, fragile and flavorful confectionery that has held millions under its spell for more than a century.

This year, Macaron Day will be celebrated in 3 cities: Paris, New York, and for the first time, Manila, presented by Empire.

Empire would like to invite you to come to Mercato Centrale, Bonifacio Global City, on Sunday, March 20, 2011, and celebrate Macaron Day Manila with other macaron enthusiasts. The Macaron Day Manila booth will be located in the stage area (between Tents 1&2) where macarons will be given away for free. In tradition with Herme's Macaron Day Paris, Macaron Day Manila will be for the benefit of Real Life Foundation. A portion of Empire's sales on that day (from the Empire booth in Tent 2) will also be given to Real Life Foundation.

Once again, this is entirely free, the donation to the charity is not required, but will be greatly appreciated. Tell your friends and family to come to Mercato Centrale, and let's celebrate Macaron Day together.
